Project Introduction:
The IHEARU cochlear implant assistance project is managed by the Beijing IHEARU CHARITY Foundation to provide support and assistance to hearing-impaired children or teenagers.。The project funding is partial funding. To ensure that the funding work is standardized, open and transparent, the relevant matters are hereby announced as follows:
1、Funding Targets
Hearing-impaired children or adolescents of Chinese nationality.
2、Funding Standards
Cochlear implant funding is partial funding, with a maximum of RMB 20,000 per person for unilateral implants and RMB 30,000 per person for bilateral implants.
3、Application conditions for funding of cochlear implant surgery
1. Children with hearing difficulties aged 1-7 years old who hold Chinese nationality and have a good language foundation, who are currently studying in regular primary schools, junior high schools, high schools, full-time higher education institutions, as well as post language deaf adolescents receiving education in special education schools.
(For language deaf adolescents receiving education in special education schools applying for assistance, proof documents from designated hospitals of Love Decibel are required to prove the effectiveness of cochlear implantation.) 2. Hearing loss greater than or equal to 80 decibels; Or those with vestibular aqueduct dilation but not exceeding 80 decibels can also apply; 3. Guardians of hearing-impaired children or adolescents with a total annual income of 120000 yuan or more are not eligible to apply. (Excluding direct relatives with hearing impairment or major illnesses); 4. Children or adolescents with hearing impairment should pay medical insurance normally; 5. Able to raise funds for treatment expenses other than the IHEARU project funding;
6. Children or adolescents with hearing impairments who have already received assistance from other programs are not eligible to apply for this program; 7. Meet the conditions for cochlear implantation surgery.
Notice:
(1) Cochlear and auditory nerve factors: Complete loss of the cochlea and severe narrowing of the internal auditory canal, with a diameter of less than 2mm, inner ear deformities, and problems with the cochlear nerve may result in corresponding restrictions on application; (2) Middle ear infection factors: For patients with suppurative otitis media, implanting electrodes can bring the infection into the inner ear, which is very dangerous. If you want to implant a cochlear implant, the first step is to completely remove the otitis media lesion; (3) Cochlear fracture: Cochlear fracture is likely to damage the vestibular cochlear nerve, rendering cochlear implantation ineffective and preventing the application for cochlear implant funding; (4) Mental illness, intellectual disability, autism, cerebral palsy, cannot apply for cochlear implant funding; (5) Other surgical contraindications: If suffering from other surgical contraindications, cochlear implantation is not considered.
4、Application Instructions
1. The legal guardian of the hearing-impaired child or adolescent must carefully read and fully understand the contents of this "Application Notice" before filling in the application materials, and agree to all the matters notified;
2. All application materials shall be filled out by the legal guardian of the hearing-impaired child or adolescent, and the authenticity and completeness of all information shall be guaranteed. Love Decibel has the right to invite or entrust other entities or individuals to verify the information;
3. If there is any falsehood, forgery or concealment in the application materials, once discovered, Fenbei of Love will not provide financial assistance. If the applicant family obtains financial assistance through falsehood, forgery or concealment, Fenbei of Love has the right to recover the financial assistance through legal means;
4. Submission of this application form does not guarantee that you will receive funding;
5. During the application period, if the guardian proposes not to apply for funding anymore, the application will be invalidated immediately;
6. For hearing-impaired children or adolescents who receive funding, after completing cochlear implant surgery, the funding will be paid directly to the surgical hospital instead of to the applicant’s personal account. The surgical hospital will provide an invoice for the same amount.
5、Funding Process
Submit information → Review by IHEARU → Visit by some family volunteers → Review → Public announcement → Surgery hospital confirms that the surgery conditions are met → Funding → Surgery → End of funding
6、Special Agreement
1. The IHEARU Cochlear Implant Aid Project provides charitable aid to hearing-impaired children or adolescents. The relevant donated funds can only be used for cochlear implant surgery for hearing-impaired children or adolescents. No individual or organization may divert the relevant funds.
2. IHEARU has the right to use all information provided by the families of sponsored hearing-impaired children or adolescents, including but not limited to text, photos, videos, etc.
